Larissa and I celebrated our 1 month anniversary last night. Of course, 9/11 is a memorable date for a very different reason, and we are always thankful for the safety of our friends and extended family - a safety that comes by grace. Nevertheless, in our own lives, we enjoyed marking the passage of time, and noting just how much seems to have happened in only 1 short month. From all the events around the wedding (including what feels like 3 receptions with the Salter's open house and the Chinese banquet down in Columbus), to Jen and Brennan's wedding the following Friday, to a wonderful honeymoon in Maui, to coming back and jumping right into the start of school, not to mention starting a new life together...it's been a crazy month.
Sunday, our photographer, Frank Kidd, came by with 3 binders full of prints and 3 DVDs of digital images (original, high res edited, low res edited). We had a great time reliving the entire wedding day as we browsed ~650 photos (and that was already weeded down from 880+ photos). Looking at the photos, we remembered just how much joy filled the day, and how we really could not have asked for a better day. I pulled out a select 100 to post on the website here. We have permission to make whatever prints we want - let us know if there's one you want.
Speaking of pictures - I created a section on the website for you, our friends and family, to share your pictures with us and everyone else. Go here to upload them to the website - you may need to shrink it a bit for the web (640 x 480 is a good size). As we get other pictures through email and such, we'll post them there as well.
You'll also notice a third gallery of honeymoon pictures. The honeymoon was great - so relaxing. Several times (especially in the beginning), Larissa and I noticed just how slowly time seemed to move in Maui. Everyone was so relaxed, and the slow, deliberate rhythm of the ocean seemed to replace the frantic ticking of the clock.
When we came back, Larissa jumped right into school, and I jumped right back into work. With the start of the school year, it was (and still is) a very busy time for both of us. Still, we're making time to be together, and we're even taking a culinary arts class (a basic nutrition prerequisite) together. It's been fun, and it does help given that Larissa has 3 night classes this term.
We're slowly working through the process of settling in; I think we might even get our laundry finished sometime this week. :-) Although we're not quite ready to have anyone stay overnight (the spare bedroom has become our "unpacking staging area"), we are looking forward to having friends and family over eventually!
